Private group workshops are for groups of 3-6 individuals (ages 15+) interested in learning the ancient medium of encaustic. In this 3-hour workshop your group will learn how to create your own encaustic painting made of beeswax and damar resin. You’ll be taught the basics from recommended heat sources, tools, and equipment to prepping, painting, and fusing with fire. All levels of ability are welcome - from beginners to those who simply want to continue learning using the supplies in the class. We recommend you bring an image that inspires you - a photo of a favorite vacation spot, artwork you love, your home’s interiors, or simply a favorite color palette. Materials are included in the class fee, allowing you to walk away with a completed encaustic painting on wood panel. Friday and weekend availability only, but we will work with you to coordinate a time.
