About

I was born and raised in rural southern Illinois. I attended Greenville College where I received a BA in psychology with a minor in sociology. Later I graduated with my MFA from Fontbonne University with a specialty in painting. Directly after graduating, I began working in arts administration - first as Associate Director of Chesterfield Arts, a non-profit arts organization in West County St. Louis, and currently as the Curator for the Schmidt Art Center at Southwestern Illinois College. I love sharing others artwork in our galleries, and have been encouraged by so many friends and colleagues to share my own. Our family (me, my husband and two beautiful children) loves to spend our days outdoors. I draw inspiration from that time with them and am constantly reminded to slow down and enjoy our world. My hope is for those viewing my work to also take a moment and breathe.
